The gateway hub of Haizhu Innovation Bay, the urban edge of the provincial city era, is now the cover of the city where the South Bay enters the city and the centre advances southward, the golden cross anchor point where the central city vein intersects with the high-quality development belt along the Pearl River, and adjacent to the National Wetland.
When innovation and vitality meet the ecological watershed, there is an opportunity to leverage on infrastructure improvement, internal and external forces, from "production-oriented" to "life-oriented", as an experiment, to explore and lead the transformation and upgrading of the entire Pearl River back channel, from the pursuit of the mechanical speed of the industrial era, to the pursuit of the integration of the city and the river, to the search for a better future, to the search for the integration of the city and the river. From the pursuit of mechanical speed in the industrial era, it has been transformed into a humanistic habitat that seeks to integrate the city and the river, and to combine efficiency with life.
We focus on the existing grey corridor, stripping away the speed, restructuring the fast and slow, and sewing up the cracks; living along the river, returning the river to the people, and restoring the river environment; prospering due to the river, supplying innovative products in multiple dimensions, and weaving the ecology of the industrial rainforests; and evolving resilience, with a smooth transition between near and far, and a precise integrated construction.
The design is not limited to the cover plate of the corridor, but is reconstructed through the pinching together of comprehensive elements, weaving innovative neighbourhoods and building a complete block with super-chain mortise and tenon joints, interpreting the pro-nature waterfront life from grey-green to bright-green, and from the rust belt to the showbelt, and using this as a demonstration, it will lead the whole line of the back channel to be renewed and upgraded.
